Week 6 Report Card! 32 Teams, and Top #IDP stat leaders

As a child I would receive grades every 6 weeks. The NFL regular season is now 18 weeks with the new schedule, and that allows for 3, 6 week sessions for us to review all 32 teams in the NFL. In addition to the report cards, this article will cover the top 5 leaders in; Solo Tackles, Assisted Tackles, Sacks, QB Hits, Interceptions, and Passes Defended. Full details are on Episode 256 of Iggy's Fantasy and Betting.

Solo Tackles

  • 45 - Denzel Perryman LV

  • 40 - Bobby Wagner SEA

  • 37 - Harrison Smith MIN

  • 37 - Cole Holcomb WAS

  • 37 - Alex Singleton PHI

LB Denzel Perryman is on pace for a career year. He is THE inside linebacker the Raiders have desperately needed. He benefits from playing one of the most dominant front four defensive lineman, and should continue to pace his team in tackles.

Assisted Tackles

  • 32 - Bobby Wagner SEA

  • 30 - Alex Singleton PHI

  • 28 - Jordyn Brooks SEA

  • 28 - Logan Wilson CIN

  • 27 - Smith CHI, Perryman LV

Mr. Reliable, AKA Bobby Wagner takes the top crown. Its something the Utah State product has done for 9 years. He is joined by Singleton and Perryman on both list, while Logan Wilson and Jordyn Brooks are newcomers to the list. Keep an eye on the latter in your leagues.

  • 8 - Myles Garrett CLE

  • 7 - TJ Watt PIT

  • 6.5 - Haason Reddick CAR

  • 6.5 - Matt Judon NE

  • 6.5 - Harold Landry TEN

Myles Garrett had a few matches he was able to exploit and rack up the sacks. TJ Watt is in his usual spot for contention for Sack leader, and snubbed Defensive Player of the Year. Reddick, Judon, and Landry are helping their teams with momentum changing sacks. This list could drastically change at the 2nd 6 week report.

QB Hit

  • 18 - Maxx Crosby LV

  • 17 - Myles Garrett CLE

  • 14 - Chandler Jones ARI

  • 14 - Jonathan Allen WAS

  • 12 - Judon, Landry, TJ Watt

Maxx Crosby has a motor that won't quit. He is near the QB on almost every play that he's out there. He could end up with over 50 QB hits (WOW!) over the season. Garrett will receive double teams but should keep applying pressure. Jones has 14 and he's played one less game than most. Judon, Landry, & Watt are in both sack and qb hit top 5. Let them lead your team.

  • 7 - Trevon Diggs DAL

  • 4 - Logan Wilson CIN

  • 3 - Amani Oruwariye DET

  • 3 - Kevin Byard TEN

  • 3 - Hyde BUF, Murphy ARI

All the talk has been on Trevon Diggs, and rightfully so. He has an interception in every game thus far, and 2 in 1 (WOW!). Logan Wilson is a surprise as the only LB in the top 5. He has versatility that should serve your lineup well going forward. There are several with 3 and 7 INTs is a wonderful year for 98% of any defensive backs.

Passes Defended

  • 11 - Trevon Diggs DAL

  • 9 - JC Jackson NE

  • 9 - Marshon Lattimore NO

  • 7 - Eric Stokes - GB

  • 7 - Dean, Murphy, Byard, Bradberry

An interception counts as a pass defended and Diggs will lead both categories as long as he get his hands on the ball. JC Jackson was 2nd in the NFL in interceptions last year, but he's not having the same luck this year as teams are still targeting him on pass plays. Stokes is a rookie and will continue to see several targets. Lattimore is CB#1 for the Saints will garnish the opposing teams best WR each week.

The first report card is in the books, and several teams have not met expectations There are a few surprises, and from a fantasy perspective there are the usual casualties; 1st pick out for significant time, are for sure picks are flopping, surprises in late round picks, waiver wire heroes, and bad FAAB spends. Listen to the episode 256 for a complete 32 team breakdown with fantasy outlook.
