Fantasy Prediction of Top 5 LBs of 2021- League Winners #NFLUK #IggysFnB #wherestheD #IDP

This article examines the expected top 5 Linebacker (LB) at year’s end. Let it be known that it is difficult to nail down the top five highest scoring of any position, but LBs are one of the most numerous and productive positions on either side of the ball. This is a quick, short list of LBs that will carry your fantasy team to weekly victories, and hopefully a championship appearance. There are going to be some names that surprise you…

5. Jerome Baker — MIA Dolphins

Jerome Baker was the 15th highest scoring LB last year, and he is Head Coach Brian Flores personal pupil. LB 15 is a LB 1 in a 16 team format, but 2021 could be a career year for Miami Dolphin. He signed a contract expressing the organizations belief in him, and the importance they place in his ability. He has the advantage of a stellar secondary playing behind him, with an above average defensive line in front of him. A BOLD statement yes, but Jerome Baker will be a top 5 LB.

4. Blake Martinez — NY Giants

Mr. Martinez has finished 5th, 9th, and 8th in the respective past 3 years. He is on a team with an awful offense, and is surrounded by great football players on the defensive side of the ball. Peppers, Ryan and Bradberry make Martinez’s coverage responsibilities quite easy. To simplify it, he has to cover essentially from hash to hash. His high tackling volume and better than average coverage skills could land him with his best fantasy football finish in 5 years.

3. TJ Watt — Pittsburgh Steelers

TJ Watt was snuffed as the Defensive Player of Year winner last year. He posted the famed meme of MJ saying he took that personal. Also, he is yet to be paid from his rookie contract, far from the highest paid defensive player designation he deserves. This could prevent him from playing week 1 or 2 to make a statement to managment, but hopefully not. It will not be surprising if TJ Watt leads the league in sacks, QB hits, and tackles for loss yet again. An IDP capable of being your leading scorer every week is difficult to come by. He has finished as the 3rd, 3rd, and 5th highest scoring IDP each of the last 3 seasons. Could he make it 3 in a row at 3rd?

2. Devin White — Tampa Bay Buccaneers

The Superbowl champion put several amazing weekly performances together from week 1 to the Superbowl… he could have been the games MVP if it wasn’t an almost guarantee to go to an offensive player. He finished as LB 1 last season and could be one of the few players of the century to lead his position in fantasy points in back to back years. He’s a tackling machine with ability to sack, create turnovers, and excels in coverage. Simply put he’s a do it all LB, and arguably the best in the business.

  1. Darius Leonard — Indianapolis Colts

Darius Leonard has been an elite IDP since his arrival in the league. He was paid as a top tier LB and has delivered, earning All-Pro honors every year of his career. He has a wonderful secondary behind him and an All-Pro Defensive tackle in front of him. He should deliver as a top 10 LB finishing 9th, 7th, and 1st over the past 3 years. Leonard will be asked to shoulder a few wins in the month of September while the offensive playmakers recover while they play. He’s more than up to the task with his knack for big plays in close out moments. He too can sack, create turnovers, and excels in coverage. Will he return to the difficult paramount that is highest scoring LB? Only time will tell.
