2021 Top 5 DL for Fantasy Football: 5 #IDP #wherestheD

5. CLE — Myles Garrett

Myles Garrett has potential to finish as the highest scoring defensive lineman (DL) of 2021. The former Texas Aggie is surrounded by the most talented defensive roster of his 5 year career.

The 2017 1st overall draft pick is the center piece of a defense that could shut down several teams. The Cleveland Browns D/ST is worth a draft pick and Myles Garrett is worth an early to mid round pick. If you are playing in #FantasyFootball7s format you could (and should) double down with Garrett and Browns D/ST as you can pick the D/ST with one of your last 5 picks.

Garrett finished 4th last year, and 6th in 2018. Garrett’s infamous week 11 brawl with Pittsburgh Steelers QB Mason Rudolph shortened his 2019 season. Garrett typically starts his seasons off with great performances and begins to wear down later in the year. With DL Clowney bringing pressure on the opposite side of the line, LBs Anthony Walker and Jeremiah Owusu-Koramoah in the middle, and an elite secondary consisting of DBs Denzel Ward, Ronnie Harrison Jr, John Johnson III, and Troy Hill the pressure to be the do it all IDP is lifted.

The lack of pressure should not equate to lack of production. Garrett will still be the focal point of offensives coordinators. If the Browns are as good as several believe they will be, the defense could be bringing pressure with a comfortable lead, Garrett has a chance to lead the league in sacks. Even in a close game Garrett will not be able to be the sole focus of opposing offenses.
